The Huairou Commission believes that valuing and recognizing to the knowledge of grassroots women and their community organizations must be central to all development processes.

We work through organizing strategies, seeking to increase the power of grassroots women’s organizations from local to global levels.  Grassroots women’s organizations use the tools and methodologies described here, to collect, strengthen and spread their community knowledge locally and globally.  Most of the tools and methodologies have been developed by or adapted by the grassroots women’s groups and NGOs in our networks.
